What qualities of sainthood do you strive for or wish you could have?

I saw a quote recently stating “your journey to sainthood starts now”

I found it very motivating…

So, how do we do it?

Well, the only answer is 'I strive for all of ‘em!’ Can’t be a saint without, after all, and we can all afford to grow in each and every blessed one.

Same here. Strive for all of them.
I tend to work specifically on one or two at a time. Last Sunday, I messed up pretty badly when I was playing the Gloria at Mass. That was my chance to show humility!!! I thank God for those little chances He gives us to grow in our faith.

If I could ask God to grant me one grace, I would ask for wisdom. Always. 🙂

What grounds me in my effort to become a saint is keeping the following prayer close to my heart:
Lord, help me to love as you love.

I think that is the whole underlining to sainthood. Loving as God loves. If we can achieve this, we must by default love our neighbor, love ourselves, despise vice and sin… the list goes on and on.

So in just about every situation, I feel that simple prayer in my heart. When I’m feeling sorry for myself with all of the duties of being a wife and a mother, Lord, help me to love as you love. When I am angry with my spouse or daughter, Lord, help me to love as you love. When I am tempted to do something I know I should not, Lord, help me to love as you love. When I’m feeling particularly impatient, Lord, help me to love as you love.

It helps me, although I have a tremendously long way to go in this journey.

I think humility. Pride is the start of so many, if not all, sins. After all, it was Lucifer’s downfall.

You do the beattitudes and don’t worry about Sainthood.

If you do a good job, they draw a circle around your head in pictures, but you will probably be long gone by then. 🙂

I agree. Humility and Obedience to God are the hardest, and all others will flow from them. Obedience is hard to come by without Humility. John the Baptist, Blessed Virgin Mary, and Our Lord Jesus are all noted for being exceptionally Humble and Obedient to God. No better examples than Them to try and imitate.

One thing that inspires me is what Jesus told St. Faustina. The soul pursuing perfection should particularly adore His mercy.
