I’ll sum this up quickly. I have a (young adult) friend, an exchange student from China, who has grown up without knowing much about Christianity of any kind. I’ve shown him some of the basics of the Catholic faith, and it seems like he might be open to the idea. I would like suggestions for resources that might be good to give him, that might help someone from his background understand and grow to love the Catholic Church. Does anyone have any ideas?

A crucifix, since it is the summation and most fitting
act of Christ, where He fittingly met the Father’s plan
for mankind. Or a picture of Mary Magdalene sitting
at Jesus’ feet listening to His wisdom and His complement
that “It will not be taken from her”.

Could you give him a blessed miraculous medal to wear? A bottle of holy water with a leaflet on how to use it, a book of basic prayers for catholics (even print off some),
Matthew Kelly has on the dynamic Catholic website 72 videos on catholicism free to watch online called Decision Point. It is for confirmation class students but is awesome. And it is useful as a modern way of learning about catholicism. Can be watched free online.

Maria Simma’s book ‘Souls of Purgatory’
Padre Pio books (real source of conversion all the miracles God worked for him)

A bible! Even a small mini one.
Matthew Kelly has written some books for people trying to delve into catholicism

If you could find a real enjoyable youth prayer group to go to…

I thought the History Channel Bible Series was awesome (can be got on DVD or watched online)

The Passion of the Christ film (brilliant -available on DVD anywhere)

Are these ideas helpful?
