I hope someone can enlighten me so I am not so troubled. Firstly, I go to daily mass at least 3x weekly, auxiliary member of the Legion Of Mary, Lector and sometimes I go to Liturgy of the Hours in the am. A good priest at my church whom we are blessed to have has “bugged” me quite a bit about joining the Legion of Mary as an active member. I have tried three times and found this is not the ministry for me, although a wonderful lay apostolic organization. Other lay people in the Legion see me at daily mass and ask if I would like to join. They do not push me and give me information. I am quite certain our good priest is angry or disappointed in me. I love our Blessed Lady very much and pray to her everyday. He use to be so friendly to me as he is with others and will barely speak to me now. Sometimes I would e-mail him on certain religious matters and I will admit I e-mailed him more frequently than I should and it was wrong of me because he is very busy. He e-mailed me back finally and simply told me…“if you still need to talk to me, please understand if I take some days or weeks to open your e-mail. I am getting so many e-mails now that even the very few that I get from you, I’m not in a good position to answer them in a timely fashion.” I cried for 3 days and then got a little angry because I feel like he diplomatically told me “to get lost”. As I said, I feel I e-mailed him too much considering his busy schedule. He said I was welcome to join the group in morning prayers. I went to morning prayers 3x and absolutely loved it. I then say rosary with church members and daily mass afterwards. I would continue with morning prayers with the group, but I was hurt by him and he both heard it in my voice and by the expression on my face. He saw I was angry. I do love Our Lady but feel like I’m not a good person because since I’m not an active member, I don’t really love her and that’s not true. I feel I should apologize to him for letting him know by my voice and expression on my face that I was hurt and a little angry and I apologize to you if I have offended you, I do love Our Blessed Lady, but now I feel like I’m just not good enough in his eyes. He sure is intelligent and well thought of by the entire church. I can’t join the active members just to please the priest because it would not be sincere. I have other obligations too. I’m sure the others do also but they make the time. I am very sad about this and don’t want to go to morning prayers now. I go to daily mass and rosary but since he leads morning prayers I will feel uncomfortable now so I do not attend. Just don’t know what to do and am hoping someone can enlighten me. Thank you kindly.
