Congratulations on your baby, only three more months, that is a very exciting time.
The annulment will go through, my pastor seemed very confident like it was no big deal. She wasn’t Catholic and we were married Las Vegas style when I was in the Navy.
Wish I could do the right thing by moving out but still take care of my family and let the marriage thing happen if its God’s will, but my last name starts with G so it ain’t Rockefeller. I couldn’t afford to pay for two places and then purchase another vehicle.
Yeah, I know it’s a hard thing.
My brother went through a similar thing. He had a strong reversion to the faith. It was really beautiful to see. But, because he had been living outside the Church for a long time, he had baggage. His gf was pregnant and not able to support herself. He wanted to be a good dad/partner, but really just got sucked back out of the church by the whole thing.
After being intimate and living together–and never before having to practice chastity since he was sixteen–it was just too hard to avoid having sex. Plus, his gf was pretty manipulative–she didn’t want to get married, but would lead him along, saying she did…And, of course, to not live with his son… it was just a difficult situation. Ten years later, he’s been off and on with the gf, had two more kids and far from God. Plus the kids have been bounced around. It breaks my heart.
Some parallels…not the crazy gf, I hope. I just think living together would make it very hard to live chastely. I’m utterly sure* I* couldn’t do it. But, if you aren’t going to marry her, you really need to start working on a way to set her up independently or with her parents, etc. It’s not fair to her or you.
As you work the living situation out, keep praying and reading. One of the best things you can do is surround yourself with serious Catholics. My Catholic friends keep me going even when it’s hard.
It really makes me happy to hear about people coming back into the Church. I was away from the Church, too, for a few years and that time of reversion was just so joyful.
Thanks, too, for the baby congrats. This is our 7th and we are thrilled!!
