Okay so I always find myself bored and having nothing to do but instead you would imagine oh I would pray or read, but I want to do that I just CANT, it’s super hard so what should I do when I’m bored! As a Catholic striving for detachment from this world!

Have you tried journaling?
I would pray or read, but I want to do that I just CANT, it’s super hard
Why is that? Have you tried a wide variety of book/e-book options? I find it’s usually the topic rather than the act that makes this a challenge.

meditation? Plenty of books our there that have different things to meditate on. ie: Alphonso Liguori The Way of Salvation: Meditations For Every Day of The Year…

Also, while trying to decide topics of interest, you could listen to certain youtube videos while doing something artsy to keep your hands busy. (or crafty if you’re just less artistic in nature)

There are a lot of great YouTube videos on our faith, and a lot of podcasts. Reading and prayer require discipline. They are muscles you have to exercise, and then over time those muscles get stronger.

So I would just start with a little bit. Just do as much as you can do and then try to work up from there. Also prayer doesn’t have to be formulaic you can just chat with God.

And things like doing something creative, enjoying nature or music, those are godly pursuits as well

I can sympathize! Boredom can be really hard to manage. Try finding a goal to strive toward. Not something little, but probably something more on the large side, that will keep you busy for a long time. But not so busy that you forget to pray! What are you good at? What undeveloped talent do you have? I think it’s good to use the gifts we’ve been given.

You should also try to devote time to prayer, even if it’s very difficult at first. If it’s hard, pray that you’ll be able to pray. Make it a goal, find that part of you that wants to be faithful and devoted, to give everything you can and do everything for God. Pray the rosary everyday. Come to think of it, today is the feast day of St. Dominic, to whom the rosary was first given. You can ask him to pray for you that you’ll be able to pray the rosary.

You know, sometimes (and maybe very often) you have to force yourself to do something (prayer), nothing falls from Heaven by itself. Forcing yourself to pray when it is boring is real detachment from yourself and your feelings.

How about adding beauty to something already beautiful - it’s an Adult Colouring Book on the Rosary, just in case the link doesn’t work. 🙂

One of many available

I could give better advice if I knew your age…as for me…I too was ambling along trying to get interested in some good books, then I discovered a book about reading the Bible in a year…now, I can’t seem to put it down! It has inspired me unbelievably!
😉

One can do thinking called meditation, and works of mercy. Catechism
2705 Meditation is above all a quest. The mind seeks to understand the why and how of the Christian life, in order to adhere and respond to what the Lord is asking. The required attentiveness is difficult to sustain. …

2447 The works of mercy are charitable actions by which we come to the aid of our neighbor in his spiritual and bodily necessities.241 Instructing, advising, consoling, comforting are spiritual works of mercy, as are forgiving and bearing wrongs patiently. the corporal works of mercy consist especially in feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned, and burying the dead.242 Among all these, giving alms to the poor is one of the chief witnesses to fraternal charity: it is also a work of justice pleasing to God: …
