What should I tell my mother?

Today, my mom told us that she would like to go on some sort of trip over the Easter holiday (Friday through Monday), probably to Louisiana to see some relatives. Before she made this announcement, I was planning to spend these days (or, more specifically, Good Friday and Easter Sunday) in prayer, spiritual reading, family time at home, et cetera. I’m a bit of a control freak, so naturally I was a little distressed to hear about her plans, but I haven’t brought anything up yet.

What should be the proper plan of action? Do these plans even really conflict?

Our Blessed Lord suffered and died on Good Friday. He spent that day on our behalf. The least we can do is spend it on His. Tell your mother to choose some other weekend. This one is taken.
