In the new calendar, I think it was the 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time. For our TLM, we used the readings for the Fifth Sunday after Epiphany, but I couldn’t find what Propers were used. So, exactly what day was it, since it was obviously not the Fifth Sunday after Epiphany?

Yesterday was the 32nd Sunday of Ordinary time in the OF calendar.

The calendar for the EF found at traditio.com lists Sunday November 27th as the 24th Sunday after Pentacost.

It will be nice when/if the Vatican unifies these calendars so that we are all on the same days.

Yesterday was the 24th Sunday after Pentecost, but the propers for the day were those of the 5th Sunday after Epiphany, since that Sunday did not occur this year. Next Sunday is the 25th Sunday after Pentecost, on which the 6th Sunday after Epiphany’s propers will be said for the same reason. These propers are said either at the end of the Pentecost season or the Epiphany season. The Sunday after is the last Sunday after Pentecost, which has its own propers.

It is unlikely that the two kalendars will be “merged” as both the kalendars and many of the readings are considerably different during the course of the year.

The prayers and readings were of the 5th Sunday after the Epiphany, but the chants (Introit, Gradual, Communion) were of the 23rd Sunday after Pentecost. Here is what I posted in another thread:

Some people may find this helpful. I’ve got an old missal that belonged to my grandmother that, instead of using the charts some people find confusing, describes in words this situation. The text reads as follows:

The Mass given below for the 24th Sunday is always celebrated on the last Sunday of the series, whether it is the 25th, 26th, 27th or 28th.

To make up the number of Masses after Pentecost when there are more than 24, the Masses after the Epiphany are used, which had to be omitted because of the occurrence of Septuagesima, but in each case the Chants (Introit, Gradual, Offertory and Communion) are invariably that of the 23rd Sunday after Pentecost.

If there are 25 Sundays after Pentecost, on the 24th the Prayers, Epistle and Gospel are taken from the 6th Sunday after the Epiphany.

If there are 26 Sundays after Pentecost, on the 24th Sunday the Prayers, Epistle and Gospel are taken from the 5th Sunday after the Epiphany and on the 25th the same parts from the 6th Sunday after the Epiphany.

If there are 27 Sundays after Pentecost, on the 24th Sunday the Prayers, Epistle and Gospel are taken from the 4th Sunday after the Epiphany; on the 25th the same parts of the 5th Sunday after the Epiphany; on the 26th the same parts of the 6th Sunday after the Epiphany.

If there are 28 Sundays after Pentecost, on the 24th Sunday the Prayers, Epistle and Gospel are taken from the 3rd Sunday after the Epiphany; on the 25th the same parts of the 4th Sunday after the Epiphany; on the 26th the same parts from the 5th Sunday after the Epiphany; on the 27th the same parts from the 6th Sunday after the Epiphany.

A bit long-winded perhaps, but at least it makes everything fairly clear. Hope this helps.

This year we have 26 Sundays after Pentecost so yesterday (7 November) we had the Prayers, Epistle and Gospel of the 5th Sunday after Epiphany. Next Sunday (14 November) these parts will be from the 6th Sunday after Epiphany. Finally, 21 November is the Mass of the Last Sunday after Pentecost (also referred to as the 24thy Sunday after Pentecost in the Missal). 28 November is, of course the 1st Snday of Advent.

In England & Wales the OF Ordo says it was 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Ordo for the EF Mass published by the Latin Mass Society of England & Wales says that it was the “Fifth Sunday remaining after Epiphany”. It says it was a 2nd Class Sunday and the liturgical colour was green. The directives given are Gloria and Credo to be said; Preface of the Holy Trinity; Introit, Gradual, Alleluia Verse, Offertory, and Communion of the 23rd Sunday after Pentecost; Collect, Epistle, Gospel, Secret and Postcommunion of the 5th Sunday after Epiphany.
