A question for all to think about and share if they like.

What time of day are you holiest?

Early morning? Midmorning? Noon? Afternoon? Evening? Night? Think about it. Why is this the case?

My answer is I think late afternoon.

The reason is that (1) when I get up, my lungs are in their worst shape of the day, talking is difficult, and my patience is shorter. (2) as I get tired, I am less able to put up with noise (it is too painful for me) and get grumpier as a grow tired, (3) so late afternoon, giving my lungs the most time to reduce their pain and before I start growing tired, allowing me to be most loving and patient with other’s behavior around me.

I would have to say early in the morning… The 'world 'hasn’t had a chance to get at me yet… I place myself in His presence as soon as I wake…then I have my ‘quiet time’ w/ Him… I ‘put on the armor’ and get myself moving.

“Please Lord, I offer you my entire day…the good and the bad …take it and make something good…I only ask for your Love and your Grace…” Annunciata:) ( I think this is part of the prayer of St. Ignatius of Loyola…)

My holiest time of day is the evening. I listen to relaxing music and read; trying to unwind from work.

My holiest time of day is when I am at school, because there I am most likely to do a good thing for someone else.

Most: Late at night (I’m a night owl.) I get my best work done, there’s no one to ring the doorbell or phone, and I can be quiet and contemplative.

Least: When I wake up. I am borderline Satanic then.

Late at night when the kids have finally gone to bed and I can read and pray without interruption.

“Conquer yourself each day from the very first moment, getting up on the dot, at a set time, without granting a single minute to laziness. If with the help of God, you conquer yourself in the moment, you have accomplished a great deal for the rest of the day. It’s so discouraging to find yourself beaten in the first skirmish.” – Saint Josemaria Escriva (The Way, #191). 👍 http://www.katholieknederland.nl/images/escriba.jpg

In my first waking moments. I say good morning Jesus. Good morning God the Father. Good morning Holy Spirit. Good morning Michaela, my guardian angel. The list goes on. If I awaken during the night I turn on EWTN on shortwave and join in their devotional prayers: the Morning Offering, the litany to the Sacred Heart, the Way of the Cross, the liturgy of the hours and of course the rosary. In the still of the night there is surely some poor soul out there contemplating suicide; dying in palliative care or about to loose their life suddenly in an accident so I don’t worry if I can’t sleep. God is calling me to prayer. That’s fine. At least I’m still good for something.

Chick,
This is the’Way ’ I follow…one of my favorites! Are you a member or a Cooperator? I’m, the latter. St. Josemaria has helped me more than I can ever explain…! God Bless, Annunciata:)

I am the most holiest at daily noon Mass. I go to church an hour early, and pray the rosary and devotions.

:blessyou:

I am the holiest at night, when I’m unconscious. 😃
LOL, that would probably be my answer too. 😃

I am a morning person so I feel most effective right out of bed.

That being said - I need to pray for more kindness and mercy in the evening.

In the spirit of the question I will answer thus: For me it is generally late-late at night when I should be sleeping. Instead I normally read for awhile and then get really introspective and that eventually leads me to prayer. But I have to agree with a number of other posters—I’m really holiest when I’m asleep. It’s alot harder to sin then.
