I recently was talking to my Aunt and I was just hearing her views on salvation as well as just Christianity in general. I was very intrigued by her views and I’m currently going into RCIA and used to be non denominational. I was interested in her views and don’t really know what to do.

Congrats on RCIA! It was good that you listened to your Aunt and respected her views. My parents are Anglican and I am always interested by their views. When they challenge me, I usually just explain why I believe what I believe.

You can respectfully disagree with her. I do that all the time with evangelicals, just keep it civilized.

You don’t know what to do because she had a compelling argument regarding what she believes regarding salvation? Or you didn’t know how to explain what you are learning in RCIA?

I would recommend searching the Catholic Answers site for information about salvation.

Take the compelling argument and bounce it around a little. Run it by the parish priest, or the deacon who helps out at your RCIA. Get different perspectives on it and go from there.

Let the Catechism be your guide for both learning what we believe and for responding to challenges. If your aunt is giving you references from Sacred Scripture to back up her beliefs, the Catechism will give you Scared Scripture references to explain your beliefs.

.
If I was you I would pray for light. God can help guide you.
One thing you could do though is ask on these Catholic forums about questions that come up.
The “Catechism of the Catholic Church” is online and seachable, if you go to it with google. (Though I have found sometimes there might be some difficulty when seaching it on a particular issue.)
