What to do - anti-Christ propaganda!

Hi, after a valid point was made -that I could do with not putting up links to annoying websites as this is doing their work for those initiating such online activity - I want to ask more generally if there are any Church organisations set up to tackle (set up counter websites) anti-Christ propaganda (normally anti-Pope, anti-Catholic, and anti-Virgin Mary, all which I consider to be satanic) on the web? I have taken down one web link that particularly grates. Have any theologians attempted counter websites as ways of tackling an evil spreading by way of the media?

Thanks,

F.C.
One of my favorite sayings: “Never argue with a fool. Bystanders can’t tell the difference.”

It is one thing to engage in conversation with people who are genuine and are trying to state their beliefs. But to try to reason with hate is only an invitation to become mired in the same mindset. Stay away from these types of sites.

Hi. Thanks for the post. It must be confusing for atheists to comprehend. The article is interesting and says quite a lot of points although without going deep into them. I think the point here is that the Church, being made up of human beings, is allowed to assess what is going on in the world as it is part of the world. This is not in the form of judgement, but of assessment. If a human being was not able to assess for itself when it was hungry it would not know when to eat; similarly, if a person did not know when something was dangerous they would not know when to avoid it. The same goes for parents when they look after their children - to know what is good for a child and to let it know is to educate it so it steers away from those things which are baser in value or of no value. So the Church is a mother to its people as God steers the Church. The world holds different values on the meaning of what life really is to what the spiritually minded believe.

About the article itself: it is true that if boys altar serve they may think about priesthood and this is often up to the decision of the local priest (I think) - and by the way, a gentle reminder that priests are not to be so easily slammed for they are people who have given up their lives and all its worldly indulgence for a greater good and so deserve some level of respect - and as for sexism, well I can tell you that sexism is not ripe in the Catholic Church for obvious reasons (God has given many blessings to female saints and ultimately to the Mother of all Christians). Nuns have a very special calling which maybe is not recognised in its true value and could be a reason, as well as a lack of humility, as to why there is so much untoward outcry because the Church doesn’t have women priests. As for kids being taught the birds and the bees, I think considering that atheist culture forces fornication down the throats of nearly every single human being every time they switch on the television or play a bit of music or are allowed to wear makeup and all that turd, then they are hardly being hidden from the real world, are they, let’s be honest?!

Do remember though, that the Church is made up of saved sinners, not perfect people, and often very imperfect people, so self-righteousness doesn’t hold up well and neither does bigotry, and all of us have to protect against these evils. If we believe that we don’t need God to help us and complete us on a daily basis then we have to go back to the drawing board. So if an atheist sees some imperfection then rather than criticize, take time first to remember that Christians are also themselves assessing what is best but not just on the basis of what a person might want for his or her self, but what is best taking into account that remedies to massage self for one’s self with the ultimate goal being one’s self, is not what real love is about and not in accordance with Gospel values.
A very thoughtful post. Thank you.
