Hi, everyone!

Doing some Shelter in Place basement cleaning (ai yi yi!).

Does anyone have good ideas of what to do with my children’s old skating trophies and medals?

They have picked out the ones that are meaningful to them (the National championships, etc.). The rest are just plastic trophies (a figure skater) with a marble (probably fake?) base. The competitions were just local events, lots of fun at the time and definitely helpful for the development in the sport, but not anything that we need a trophy to remember.

Are there any charitable organizations that anyone knows of that will accept trophies?

We have talked to our skating club about recycling them, but the skating club in our area is kind of…well, not really active much.

My husband considered gluing them all together and making a modern sculpture, but we’re getting close to retirement and I really don’t think we want to haul that to whatever home we end up in!

Thanks everyone!

Maybe a film company or theater company could use them as props?

Before you do anything, check out “upcycled trophies” on Pinterest. Some clever uses. If anything, pull off any identifying tags and donate them to goodwill for craft projects. People love to make trophies for parties, or “best whatever” as a joke or seriously.
