What to do with parents?

I’m a convert from a primarily Baptist background. My parents are still Protestants. Should I share the fullness of faith with them with the possibility of their rejecting it and thus being condemed or remain silent and hope they are ignorant enough to merit Purgatory.
 
You know your parents best in that you know what most they will respond to and what they might resent.

My suggestions are for you to not be shy in sharing your Love of Christ with them. Don’t be shy about being excited about your growth toward the Lord. That will leave openings up for your parents to ask questions, thus they shouldn’t be angry because you respond.

There is a full banquet in the Church and you can use all of it to help you. Ex: If the Trinity comes up in a topic, don’t be afraid of sharing insight from one of the ECF, or present day priests for that matter.

No where in the Bible does it say to convert anyone. There is a good reason for this as only God knows the heart of a person and therefore can lead conversion. Another reason, Who says only Catholics are going to Heaven? Jesus says,“Do you think My Jews don’t go to Heaven, if their hearts are right? They do not worship Me, but they worship My Father and I am one with The Father, so of course they go to Heaven if their hearts are right. And what of my Protestants? Do you not think they go to Heaven if their hearts are right? Of course they do! Do not think that it is the label on the outside that merits Heaven. It is what is on the inside, in the heart.” Salvation comes to the world through the Catholic Church and salvation is to be shared with all peoples to the extent that they permit it. Do not force feed anyone, not even your parents. Jesus tells us that people can be driven from the Truth with nothing but the Truth. So just love them and share as you can your new found faith. If Jesus found you do you not think He will find His other sheep? Do not judge, just love one another and say to yourself, as St Michael the Archangel said to Satan,“I will leave it to My Father in Heaven to correct you.”
 
It may be helpful to remember that the work of bringing someone to Christ, and to the fullness of faith in Him, is the work of God the Holy Spirit. We, sometimes, have the honour to help in that work.

Of course, it is always appropriate to pray for your parents, and those prayers, be assured, will not be wasted ones. I don’t think any of us are called to instruct our parents (TV commercials’ suggestions not withstanding); we are to honour them. When God provides the opportunities for you to provide them with information on the faith of the Church, do so out of the love and respect you seem to have for your parents (as reflected in your concern for their spiritual well-being).

And be patient. My wife is now a member of the Church, being received into her company after we were married – 35 years after we were married!

Have gone thru the same thing. Yes, I say share what you have found out, but gently, by all means. It can be most hard though. I have been spit on, yelled at, told I was being brainwashed, and “not to send any more material to anyone in my family”, etc., etc., but I feel all the same, God is counting on me to share the fullness of the faith with my family and friends. You must too JLove. For we have been there, been in the Protestant mindset, and now we know the fullness, and truth and the True Church. We must share what we have discovered!!!

All I can add to this is AMEN - Love em, love em love em. If they ask, answer the question in LOVE. Then, just let them see the joy in your eyes.

I think this quote from my original post covers your question
