Not sure how to handle an item that was given to me several years ago.

It is an expensive small item that a friend of mine stole; it was taken from a customer of the business he worked for. He gave it to me, and yes, I did know that it was “borrowed without permission” when I took it - Satan had a stronger grip on me then than he does now.

What do I do with this item? Send it back to him? Throw it out? Sell it and drop the proceeds in the poor box?

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Do you know who it was taken from? Can you return it? If not, I would say the next best thing would be to donate it to your local Catholic thrift store for resale.

I hope you have also confessed your part in this to a priest.

Ask a Priest in the confessional. Tim

I do not know who it was taken from, and I don’t think he knows either.

I haven’t confessed this yet, as I was only recently reminded of it. It was sitting in a drawer for a long time and I came across it last week.
