Well, you have two options - you could repair it or dispose of it. You said that it has been torn from the backing so you can either stitch it back on if you are handy with a needle and thread or if you are not they do sell a product that will let you attach appliques or even do an emergency repair to a hem at a fabric store or the fabric department at Wal-Mart. If it is beyond repair then you can dispose of it like any other blessed object, either by burning it (like blessed palms) or burying it in the ground. Hope that helps
