I have a meeting with the parish pastor this week. It is the first one since telling him I’d like to convert (it’s been a couple weeks since his schedule has been packed).

What should I expect?

Don’t expect anything.
He’s a person.
He will be welcoming, nice.
Don’t walk in with preconceived notions from people who alternatively love or dismiss their priest.
Be open, be sincere. Everything will be fine. Welcome home. 💜

He will ask you some questions to get to know you and your background, to better guide you. Just be honest, honesty is always the best policy.

I’d make a good impression on him - by bringing him a gift 🙂
Nothing to fancy or elaborate -
That would be a nice smile type of gesture -
saying, “ thank you for making time for me “

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the help. Since deciding to come home I’ve felt like I’m under spiritual attack. I need all the prays I can get.

An eagle feather ?
A small figurine of a pirate captain with telescope.
A colorful parrot figurine.
Nothing religious though. Something secular 😇

A talk with a person. He will probably give you information about getting into RCIA or an alternative way to bring you into the Church. Dont be nervous.

Would it be inappropriate to ask him to bless some rosaries for me? I sometimes make them in my spare time. I have several that have not been blessed yet.

I’ll be praying for you. I remember he asked me why I wanted to become Catholic. We discussed my family’s objections and how I dealt with that. It was a relaxed conversation, not time constrained or rushed. Very welcoming. I also felt under spiritual attack. I arrived for my appt and no one could find the priest. I waited well over 20 minutes, it was suggested by several that I just call and reschedule. I waited and kept telling Satan I wasn’t leaving! When Father came down the stairs, he had no idea why they couldn’t find him, he was in the common room and didn’t hear the doorbell.
