I have a vietnamese friend over in vietnam, and i am in California. Now and then i send them a gift, and this time i want to send them a green scapular (“cloth of conversion”) because they are athiest. but they are really open minded athiest.

My question is this. I want to send them a “salvation-tract” (preferrably in vietnamese) that will tell them about Jesus, how to get to heaven, and get them interested in the Catholic Faith.

Can anyone help me find one? PLEASe!

If you want to send them Catholic material or items, you must ask them first. If they get the items, and they don’t want them, they may end up in the garbage. We cannot just give things to people if they don’t want them. We have to ask first, this is the
proper way of doing it.

Rosaries, Scapulars, Relic Medals, exct. Perhaps a nice cross to wear, or to display in the home.

Marilena, the poster is looking for a salvation tract in Vietnamese and is looking for help in finding one. Read the first post again.

your point being? NOT everyone is ASTUTE as you are, thank you VERY much. I offered a suggestion based on the green scapular point in her post. If she wants a good tract, try one pillar of fire pillar of truth. That is a good one. I hate it when people come in here and try to correct me. You could’ve said PLEASE before you posted that I ought to re read the post. that would’ve BEEN charitable. PLEASE goes along way, and makes me LESS cranky. It sounded demanding to me. I do not respond well if it sounds like a demand, or sarcastic. I do not have a sense of ha ha. please use the word please when asking me to do something. Otherwise, I will assume your being sarcastic or demanding, and that might not be the case, but that is how I will see it unless I SEE the word please.

Iam not going to argue. When people do not use the word please. i do not respond well. period. Iam usually a very easy going person, but it is good manners to say to me: Marilena, you might’ve made an error, and would you please go back and read the post" that would’ve got a better response from me. I do not see it as help if someone tells me to do something without saying please. I see it as an order, and I do not take orders from people. If they are kind enough to say please first, then that is charitble, and that gets a better response from me. Iam not going to apologize, and shouldn’t have to. You don’t want to say please, don’t. But don’t expect me to respond nicely either.

You might search the Catholic Answers website or maybe EWTN. They might know of a company that can get some in Vietnamese. Or maybe even PM one of our mods here. They might be able to point you in the right direction anyway.

Good luck and bless you for your efforts!

I haven’t looked thoroughly through this website, but it seems like a good one.

This is on it’s homepage:
NguoiTinHuu.com was founded in 1997 for evangelization through electronic messaging and text retrieval media.

Its mission is to offer FREE information on the Catholic faith to all, including news and other articles on all matters of Catholic life. It is our intent to adhere to the Magisterium of the Church, the Holy Father and the Bishops of the world united with him as pastors of the Church, while remaining open to dialogue with everyone.
NguoiTinHuu.com is maintained by Deacon Joseph Nhat Tran with the cooperation of Vietnamese priests from all over the world, especially priests and deacons of diocese of Galveston-Houston.

Hi Mary,👋

I read the first post again, and the OP also mentions wanting to send a green scapular. I think the things Marilena mentions are also good ideas.

One thing, though, if they are going to blessed, then they become sacramentals of the Church. The priest who is blessing them should be aware that they will be going to an atheist family. Some priests may advise not to bless them, unless he is confident that they will be treated with the respect that sacramentals deserve.

Is Pillar of Fire Pillar of Truth a good one to recommend for this purpose? This poses a really good question. Does Catholic Answers have any tracts regarding salvation?
Here, have a look at what Catholic Answers has on the subject:

Hey paramedicgirl, you are right, the OP did mention other items and Marilena did have good ideas. I was responding to the part of the post that starts with “My question is this…”

Anyway, you make a good point about whether or not to bless the items. The priest will have some good advice there - it warms my heart to see that they are open to considering faith in God - what an awesome opportunity our OP has!!👍

If it is available, a Bible may be the most appreciated gift by such a family.

A Bible may be the most difficult item for people there to come by.
