What to wear on confirmation day

My daughter is being confirmed on Wednesday, is there a certain color she needs to wear or anything special? This is our first confirmation. My husband and I went through RCIA.
 
My dad said when he did it in the 1950’s, they wore white.

I’ll be confirmed myself this Pentacost Sunday, and my instructor told us to just be sure not to wear black, and that ladies should wear modest skirts or dresses and men should wear suits.
 
If your daughter’s confirmation instructor did not say anything, wear any color your daughter or you like. What you should avoid are spaghetti straps and strapless stuff. A nice “church” dress from Easter, if she has one, ought to do the trick. There is no prohibition, per say, against black, unless the parish or diocese has one. Red and white are traditional confirmation colors.

This is why they used to have red robes for the boys, and red and white robes for the girls.
 
Just a modest dress, and nice shoes. I was at confirmation services yesterday and that is what most girls wore. If your daughter dressed up in nice clothes for mass, that would work fine.
 
modesty is the most important, a suit is a great investment. winter white looks great but it can be any color.
 
Sunday best but make sure it is modest. Frequently parishes will have confirmation gowns or stoles, but that is not the norm, just the parish tradition. Congratulations!
