This is a sensitive question of some people. Is it Uncatholic or Unethical or even inappropriate for a person to be in underwear at his or her home?? Is this solely a Sociological issue?

So long as no one else who lives in the home has a problem with it, it is not a Catholic or ethical question at all.

We are born naked, if I could, I would stay that way!! 😛

If you live alone, go for it. Just keep a robe or something by the door if someone knocks.

(And keep the windows covered.)

😛

If you don’t wear underwear at home, the three-inch thick burlap pants you’re required to wear at home to prevent immodesty may become dirty. 😉

I think of a story from my mother about how her father, when he came home, would drop his pants and be in his underwear, but for modesty’s sake he would wrap a towel around himself, although it didn’t fully reach around back. That was only a problem when he’d stand in front of the big picture window in the front room of their house, which was at the top of a hill.

So regardless of morality, you’ll get some stories for the children and grandchildren if you only wear underwear.

I hope it’s not un-Catholic nor unethical as it’s hot today, I live alone, it’s Noon, and I’m in my undies right now. My windows are shaded, I live on the second floor, and I can throw something on if someone knocks on the door but I’m going to be as comfortable as I can be in my own home. From May to October when I get home, no matter what time of day, I strip and my cat doesn’t seem to care. November to April I put on pajamas but in the hotter months that’s not the case. When I have to go out again I get dressed again; simple as that.

Modesty is for the sake of others - since there’s no one else in my home I can dress (or undress) as I wish.

 Ohhh…thanks for the visuals…😛

If you are home alone, that’s one thing, or with your spouse perhaps. But kids do not want to see their parents in their underwear. Ever. 😛
If you ask my kids what my favorite color is, they answer, “no pants!”

My late husband used to sit in his underwear and watch TV.

Those who like to go around with skimpy clothes or none at all should be in good physical shape. That would help a little.

My boss used to have her house on a hill. Her bathroom faced the desert terrain, so she did not have anything to cover the windows. The toilet was in plain view. If a landscape worker happened by, he could get a good view of the event.

Nope, certainly not unethical by my standards and I’m a fairly modest sort. One thing I would caution you to do is if you have a webcam, make sure that the webcam is turned off or covered up in addition to covering up the windows. I know some people who keep tape over their webcams just to keep hackers from violating their privacy. I live with my family and my dad is not okay with me uncovering outside of my bedroom/bathroom because we get frequent visitors in the form of delivery drivers and friends of mom so I only uncover when I’m bathing, changing, or alone in my room. Also, I would at least keep underwear or boxers on when you’re in the living room sitting on the sofa because you don’t want to expose any future guests to bodily fluids/nastiness.

I remember my teenage daughters only negative reaction to my marrying Joe was that they were going to have to start wearing pants around the house. 😃
