So for all you Jane Austen fans out there, which was your favorite Jane Austen movie?

Oh, and should I add that this is my first poll…I’ve finally figured out how to make one! 😃

I’m just so proud of my computer abilites right now… 🙂

You missed the BBC versions of her works done in the 80s. That being said, I voted for the A&E version of Pride.

…What, I can’t listen to Green Day, and still enjoy Jane Austen?

Yours in Christ,

I voted for “Persuasion” and I assume you mean the one with Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds. The A&E version of “Pride and Prejudice” was marvelous, of course, and “Sense and Sensibility” with Emma Thompson and Kate What’shername.

I’m definitely an Austin fan. I confess I not only watch those movies more than once, I re-read all three of these books about yearly.

**Kate, you are a person after my own heart! Do do the same, except I probably read the books more than once a year.

Gwyneth Paltrow did such an excellent job as Emma, and I just love Jeremy Northam as Knightley. Haven’t seen the Kate B., version, my video store probably doesn’t carry it.

I’ve rented the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice so many times, I may as well buy it! I think it’s about $30. May for myself for Christmas?

Emma Thompson did such a lovely job of writing the script for Sense and Sensibility, that I didn’t mind the changes from the book.

I had such a nice post then I go and accidentally delete it…

For my money’s worth, the most successful adaption of an Austen novel into a movie has to be “Clueless” - the screenwriter understoond all the nuances behind the story, and managed to successfully transport the characters/story into the modern world. An excellent adaptation of “Emma”.

I am listening to BasketCase on yahoo music as I write this.😃

I love Jane Austen! Did anyone of you notice that there is a new Jane Austen movie out. My DH sort of rolled his eyes and asked, “Not another one!” The poor man has had to suffer through several Austen movies.

Have any of you ever heard of Francis Burney? She was a favorite of Jane Austen and had a lot of influence on her.

I love all of Jane Austen’s works and I’m really excited about the new Pride and Prejudice movie! My husband has even agreed to see it with me – more for Keira Knightley then for me, but I’ll take what I can get! 😃
