We remember JPII stated, “Be not afraid” … But I don’t recall what Papa Benedict said.

“Dear Brothers and Sisters: After the great Pope John Paul II, the Lord Cardinals have elected me, a simple and humble worker in the vineyard of the Lord.

I am consoled by the fact that the Lord knows how to act, even with inadequate instruments and above all I entrust myself to your prayers.

In the joy of the Risen Lord, trusting in His permanent help, as we go forward the Lord will help us, and His Mother, Mary Most Holy, is on our side Thank you”.

I believe he also said “Pray that I may not flee for fear of the wolves.”

I think his papacy and his resignation demonstrate that his words were prophetic. He has been a humble worker in the vineyard of the Lord.

I am saddened but gratified by the incredible humility of this resignation

My thoughts exactly!
I will miss him a lot… everytime I was listening to him it was like a feast for the mind and soul. This is irreplaceable 😦
