Jesus is fully God and fully man. While He does possess a human will He also possesses a divine will. Sin is contrary to the will of God and therefore contrary to the very nature of Jesus. He had free will but He was not solely a human being but the God man and His person had two natures. If Jesus would have sinned then the hypostasis or the union of God and man would be in question since His divine will would have been coexisting with a sinful human will. HHmmmmmmm…

You might as well ask “what if red was blue”?
Jesus is God, God can not sin.
If Jesus would have sinned then Jesus would not have been God and we would not be Christians today. We would not have the New Testament.

Good thing it never happened this way and good thing we don’t need to ask what would’ve happened if Jesus sinned. I would also like to add this about Mary’s yes to do God’s will.

What a provocative theological question and…
“what if red was blue”
This analogy might give a valuable perspective.
The closest way to make red blue without changing physics, might be to use a blue filter.
A piece of blue glass makes red blue. The blue lens actually sees a monochromatic world, eliminating all colors except blue, most of all red. Thus, we lose the fuller depth that red provides in all other colors.
To apply this analogy to our question. If we consider divine man through the filter of sin we may only see humanity and lose all the richness and contrast of divinity. The world may appear as a monochromatic atheism. So much truth would be lost, just as white becomes lost in blue and red disappears in black all drowned in blue. Even if Jesus remained divine God, the revelation of this divinity could never exist beneath the cloak of sin. God would become imperceptible as sin would be the most vibrant aspect, the whitest blue.
Light as a parable on divinity? Pretty thought provoking.

Sin is a lack of God,
Jesus, Who is God, cannot be lacking in Himself…it’s just not possible.
i could try and imagine hypothetical what would happen if He did sin…but i don’t think it’s a good idea spiritually to think of those things…
