To reconcile with the Church, as a baptize but schismatic/heretical Christian, the Church dictates a process with specific steps that one must go through over a period of time culminating at Easter.
I met with a priest today regarding this process. Due to the extenuating circumstances I am in, details do not matter, and because of my demonstrated earnestness, knowledge, various acts of piety and devotion, some of these requirements will be loosened for me individually though the official process remains unchanged.
Would this be some sort of indulgence to lighten the requirements to turn from sin and reconcile to the Church ?
Because I would love to be able to say that it was a type of indulgence. I really would.
But if not what would the technical legalese word be to describe such a dispensation.
