What would Peter think of the church today?

Maybe.

Or what if he was disgusted that we allow you separated brethren the name “Christian” (cf Vatican II)?

I have often wondered what Jesus would think, but He already knows.

Peter would be saddened that the original church had the schism in 1054 (or around that time) and then the protestant reformation that further divided the church.

I think same sex marriages and female priests or pastors and bishops in protestant churches would be frowned upon.
 
After nearly 2000 years, the Church still stands, and strives to do its solemn duty to go out to teach all nations everything that our Lord taught, as our Lord instructed the Apostles and Peter to do. I think that St. Peter would be happy about that. Also that no Popes have had to suffer martyrdom for quite awhile, as he, and then most of his successors did for the first 300 years of Christianity.

I think Peter along with all the saints in heaven are more up to date on the Church than any person on earth.
 
Saint Peter knows the current state of the Catholic Church. Our Lord said, regarding the Church, “what is bound on Earth is bound in Heaven, what is loosed on Earth is loosed in Heaven.”
