Is there anything you would tell your younger self if you had the chance? Something regarding God or life or anything in general, something where you really had to learn the hard way?
I’d tell myself a few things actually:
.) Be outgoing in school and once you realize you’re starting to crush on Sarah, ask her out. Do it with confidence, but don’t delay. Also, try out for the basketball team. Might even wanna give the football team a shot. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, so take as many as you see available.
.) When you meet a girl named Heather and eventually start to date her, learn what you can about women and relationships from her, but understand that your relationship will never work out in the end. Break it off no later than a year and a half after you start dating. Trust me on this.
.) Don’t major in Criminal Justice. Go for Business instead. Maybe minor in computer science.
.) Don’t stop playing basketball. It will prove to be the one thing that was keeping you in the best shape of your life. Lift weights, also, but don’t go overboard.
.) When you meet the woman who will someday become your wife, wait for the day when she promises to love, honor and respect you for all the days of her life… then get it in writing, preferably signed in blood.
.) Don’t waste 11 years of your life working in a supermarket. Dare to find better jobs. Once you GET a job, don’t spend too much time knocking it. You’ll find out later in life that good jobs are hard to come by.
.) Talk to your parents about possibly getting fitted for orthopedic shoes. Otherwise, you’ll hit a point where the bones settle not quite right and you’ll spend the rest of your life with backaches that could have been avoided.
.) If you meet girls named Abby, Gwen and Veronica, don’t date them. You’ll regret it. When you meet Jenny, don’t lead her on to believe you want anything more than friendship. Otherwise, you’ll break a nice girl’s heart and you’ll feel like trash for YEARS to come.
.) When you meet Lisa and Donna, pay close attention to their signals and body language. They’re trying to show you that they like you, so don’t be so thick-headed and not see this.
