I’m not sure what Heaven will be like but I am sure that it will be pure ecstasy and bliss. I sure do hope that I make it there! ;)😛
Yes, I pray that we all make it there, by the Grace of our Lord. Then, we could smile at each other, remember this thread and say, 'wow, we really didn’t have any idea. . . ’

I am reading “The Fulfillment of All Desire,” a lengthy book by Ralph Martin. In spite of its length, it’s a clear and concise read of several mystics and their take on advancing in the spiritual life. He’s included St. Francis de Sales, St. John of the Cross, St. Therese of Avila, the Little Flower, and others. I’m in a section in which some of them describe visions of heaven which they’ve had or visions of Jesus or His Father, Who have given them hints of what to expect. I don’t recall which mystic reported this – either Catherine of Sienna or Bernard of Clairvaux – but those relationships we have on earth – whether familial or friendly – will be retained and intensified, but also different, in heaven, as long as they were Christ-centered. (The “different” takes care of the scripture that talks about people not being married or given in marriage in heaven, I think.) I wish I could remember the details, but they don’t come to mind right now. In any case, if someone is looking for a good Catholic book, this is one to consider. (Ralph Martin teaches theology at a Catholic seminary in Detroit, appears on EWTN regularly and I think he may also teach some at Steubenville. In any case, I have found his teachings to be very helpful over the years.) Sorry for rambling.

God bless,
Dan

Dear Dan

Sounds like a great book. I think thse saints may have had special visions of the Blessed Trinity which usually happens when a spiritual marriage takes place.

God bless you dear friend:thumbsup:🙂

My dear friends

Here are some thoughts on the subject. Being a not theologian I hope I make sense. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this or related topics too.

We cannot view God in human terms and try to understand Him using concepts common to us that we see and experience in our world. The reason for this is people often think of God as an infinite being, and so He is, but they think in terms of the space or volume He occupies. We cannot think of the infinite God this way. Time, space, all matter, all forces and all of creation exists within God, and God continually interacts with all and keeps all in existence, but all this is not a part of God. God is not a space so you can’t measure Him in terms of volume. All the things we know as mentioned do not exist in Gods world. I say world because it’s a concept we understand but God has no world. God is not a space, there is no time with God, nor material things bar our Blessed Lord and those assumed into heaven, no forces that control our world or any other created thing in heaven, which is God. God is being itself. God’s world is God and only He exists in it, bar angels and saints of course.
In heaven which is God who is infinite and eternal Living Love we shall exist in God and experience God who is Infinite Love and there will be no time, space, etc we find in our world as mentioned. God is infinite and eternal Living Love and as per my other theories the Infinite Love which is God is present in it’s entirety in the most infinitesible place ( I say place because it’s a concept I understand ). So God is completely present everywhere because Infinite Love is present everywhere. We shall just be in His being. It will be blissfully ecstatic as we be in a being who is infinite and eternal Living Love and see, experience and feel this infinite love. We will just want to love God back when we experience all this. The more we can love Him the happier we’ll be. To be as happy as possible we have to fill our hearts and souls with as much grace as possible. We do this so that grace which is love can transform us into a more loving person through our cooperation with the love of God. The holier we become the more loving we become. To become a Saint is to be a very loving person and Saints have the capacity to love God back the most in heaven and this means they get much more happiness there than most. This is why the church teaches us and wants us to become Saints. And provides all the necessary help to achieve it. The church wants us to be as happy as possible now, but especially in heaven.

Hope my theory makes sense.

God bless all:thumbsup:🙂

My theory is that the worst day in Heaven is better than the best day on Earth 😃

I think that in heaven there will be no mormons… praise the Lord! 😃 I’m only joking! :rotfl:
Mormons are our christian siblings on the same path. 😃
Now then, I will be serious;

I feel that in heaven there will be a divine golden light that has a ceratin presence about its self, I think that the light will be the Lord him self. I so want to be with him… I mourn for his presence, i know that if I am faithful then I will feel his presence even here in my Earthly existance, but I just want him now. I don’t to wait for my biological expiary date to exeed but I just want him here and now. I don’t want to go to purgatory and wait for him to accept me, I don’t want to go to hell and wait an eternaty to meet him… I just want him now, in my arms, in my soul, in my life, in my sleeping, in my waking, in my living and in my dying.

I don’t want to wait, I want him with me now.

God; I need your son, he is my everything, he is my only hope of salvation and my only hope of being with you. Let your son come to us now, let him come on the clouds with fire, at your right hand side, come with your great mercy and judge the world now. I don’t want to wait for you any more! Please come to my life and let my earthly desires just burn in the furnace… where they belong so that I may be immaculate before your presence.

If it is your will that i burn in hell for an eternity then so be it… throw me away, let me not offend you anymore with my sins. Where ever you put my soul I shall rejoice, because no matter where you put it, it will still be with you because you made me born and you put me here today, you will never escape my love for you, Lord, saviour, All Mighty Father of us all, you will never stop me from loving you no matter how far you throw me away from your grace.

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
our Life, our Sweetness, and our Hope.
To Thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
To Thee do we send up our sighs mourning
and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious Advocate,
Thine Eyes of Mercy toward us,
and after this our exile show us the
Blessed Fruit of thy Womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us O Holy Mother of God
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

My dear friend Jennifer

It’s great to see you have a great and passionate love and longing for God. I know your on a learning curb but may I tell you something? I can often feel His presence radiating from the tabernacle in my nighly visit. He is there in a special way dear friend. I go to daily mass and receive Him into my heart and soul in holy communion - this is the most intimate experience we can have with God here. I visit Him every night for about 3 hrs too. He is truly present in the eucharist dear friend. When God is living in us we have heaven within us you know. If we spend much time within ourselves with Him in prayer it sometimes happens He will reveal Himself to us and give us a small foretaste of what is to come in the next life. You can begin to experience Him now if you want.

I really loved your post. Thank you for sharing it.🙂

May God bless you and reveal Himself to you and give you a pledge of eternal life:thumbsup:🙂

Thank you John, but bowing down to the tabernacle is still a bit strange to me, but if you really say and believe that he has something special waiting for me there, then I will trust and believe in your words.

Just bow to God who is everywhere and not the tabernacle if you like. Ask for a sign and be patient. He does have something special waiting for you for sure. God is full of surprises. I’m praying for you to help you on your journey. Hope it helps:)

God bless you dear Jennifer:thumbsup:🙂

I saw a movie the other night w/ the most awesome mansion on the most beautiful lake & thought, “wow, I’d love to just have a room in that place for one night!” Then I remembered the scriptue that our Father already has a room prepared… only it is much nicer & it is forever:D

Thank you. The good book says - in my fathers house there are many chambers. Think of heaven how you like dear friend. Just imagine it’s everything that could be that is infinitely perfect, beautiful, blissful and good, pure and magnificent. Then understand it’s much, much greater than we can ever imagine.

Thank you for your thoughts dearest friend. It’s great to think about heaven. It’s ok because heaven is God and this is prayer so it’s not wasting time either.

May God bless you and bring you home:thumbsup:🙂

What heaven will be like: We may or may not create a heaven on this earth, it could go either way, but it does not matter to a spiritual being. A spiritual being goes to a place and time that a heaven exists after they die; it is guaranteed.

There have been many mythical descriptions of heaven. They have shown a heaven that is up in the clouds with everyone wearing white. It looks very boring, and it would be. The real heaven, the one you will be in after you die, if you know the truth and the life, the place you could be living in the next five minutes and you will be living in less than a hundred years; the real heaven is not boring. It is more interesting and fulfilling than you can imagine or I can describe completely.

This section will give you the basics of how it will be. Your next life in heaven will be much the way the world is now, only all human beings will be spiritual beings. It is not dog eat dog like the animal world, it is dog love dog, metaphorically speaking. It will look like the best parts of this world. There will be the same positive differences between people and cultures that we see today, even more so. Nothing really changes that much that is on the outside of you. Nature is nature (God), and it will never fundamentally change much. The only thing that really changes completely is your perspective and awareness. You are a spiritual being, and the people you live around are also spiritual beings. Heaven will be just as life is now, just without the parts we can live better without.

The Bible says, “There will be no sadness or pain, that they will pass away.

Evolving past pain
: When we die and are reborn, the physical parts of our brains and nervous system that create and send us pain, fear, sadness and the other negative aspects of our current life will not be part of our new bodies. We will have evolved past them. We will have just enough pain to let us know when we are injured or sick, and no more.
**
Severe physical pain will not exist in heaven.**

The part of our brain that is responsible for feeling pain and the other unwanted sensations will simply not be in our new bodies. We will be hardwired only for pleasure and fulfillment. Physical pleasure will come and go like in this life, but there will be no severe pain or undesirable feelings and emotions, and we will always be fulfilled with the spirit of God.

Just pleasure: We will be reborn with bodies that can feel pleasure better than we can feel it now, but our bodies will not be capable of perceiving the negative side of life. We will still be motivated to do things, because we will still want to feel the pleasure created by doing certain things. Spiritual life does not need the carrot and the stick (pleasure/pain), just the carrot. The need to feed and breed, in combination with the natural environment, will control what we do just as they do now. As I have pointed out, the physical universe cannot change and exist.

My dear friend

Thank you for your post. And welcome aboard.
I tend to think we are already perfect because God does all infinitely perfectly and He has created us perfectly from word go. We do not need the hanges / improvements you state in orderf to go to heaven in my opinion. If we are in grace Heaven is already in us but we can’t experience it usually. Mystics do get strong foretastes of heaven often they say. So I disagree a little with you. But thanks for you contribution:thumbsup:

May God bless you abundantly:thumbsup:🙂
