I heard on the Sonrise Morning Show (EWTN radio) that 2015 is slated to be the year of the Family, which is why there’s going to be a Synod on the family in early 2014.
The year of religious brothers and religious sisters.
I had to break this down for someone about a week ago. They didn’t know what consecrated life was. They thought that it automatically includes priests, which is not the case at all. It does not. So now, I just break it down so people are not confused.
I’ve always felt that the Church has never quite found the right term for this way of life. They tried religion, religious life, consecrated life and none of them is very clear to the man in the pews.
