I thought I’d start a lighthearted thread after days of reading so much heavy stuff lately.
I’ll start.

To read: ‘The Lost Hero’ by Rick Riordan, ‘Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption’ by Stephen King, and ‘Bleak House’ by Charles Dickens (that’s only a small portion of my real ‘to read’ list :p).
To play: ‘Rayman 2’, ‘Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale’, and ‘Mirror’s Edge’.
To watch: ‘Frozen’ (even though I’ve already seen it, but it was really good!).
To do: Finish a report that’s due at the end of next week.😦
To eat: Crème Brulee (I’ve been dying to try since I was like seven).

So? What’s on your ‘to’ list? 🙂

To read Jane Eyre, A Brief History of Time, and How The Church Built Western Civilization

To watch all my sci fi movies

I read the Bible cover to cover in Spanish. Now, I want to go through, read it cover to cover in English, since English is my native language!

I want to finish the series, “La Pola”, based on a true story on the Mexican revolution. It has almost 100 episodes. I’m over halfway through, now!

I want to finish learning Braille, possibly learn some arts and crafts.

I want to continue learning with the pastoral group, possibly begin teaching my own groups under supervision.

I’d like to make friends.

To read the next book in the “Safehold Series” by David Weber – comes out in February, and unfortunately, they only come out about once a year now. Hoping for at least two more books in this Series! It’s about a planet (the last one of humans left) which is controlled by a fake church, not allowed anything other than wind, water and muscle power (no technology) and the last remaining human from the earlier time of space travel which ran into a genocidal race which destroyed all humanity except these who escaped here. He is reintroducing more modern things (like clipper ships and steam power, as well as steel and guns, which have never developed, since this “church” won’t allow any advances beyond early Medieval times, controls all politics and learning, and punishes advances by anyone with torture! Fascinating story, and I re - read the first books for about two weeks prior to each new release. Weber is a gifted and intelligent writer, and I’m reading everything he writes now (mostly sci-fi).

To get to my basement as soon as winter is over and get rid of everything there - don’t use it, don’t want it. Mostly garden tools my husband used prior to his death, and I can’t garden due to disability and 20 deer in my front yard every evening who eat any flowers I plant!

To start saying my Rosary in the mornings, since I keep falling asleep when I say it at night! (The Sisters in grade school said my Guardian Angel would complete it if I fell asleep, but I think I need to make an effort to say it when I’m more wide awake).

To visit the Holy Land.
To visit all of the Basilicas & churches in Italy.
To put my feet in the Jordan River.

I’ve heard of Crème Brulee, but don’t know what it is! Sounds good, but just what is it?

I’ve heard something like that, too! And I also, for a time, had this problem, but it was more so of my fault because I tried saying the rosary while in bed… at night… at the end of the day… so it’s no wonder I almost always fell asleep during the 1st or 2nd decade or so. :o But nowadays, while I still usually say it at night, I just make sure to pray it while kneeling since it’s almost impossible to fall asleep while doing so. 🙂

I think I had that for the 1st time a couple years ago! I just remember it being some kind of desert that actually gets set on fire!! 😃 And yes, it was good, too, though I can’t remember what it was made out of w/out googling it. But with Googling it, lol, here’s a pic:

And the wiki definition: Crème brûlée (/ˌkrɛm bruːˈleɪ/; French pronunciation: [kʁɛm bʁy.le]),[1] also known as burnt cream, crema catalana, or Trinity cream[2] is a dessert consisting of a rich custard base topped with a contrasting layer of hard caramel. It is normally served at room temperature. 🙂

What I would like to do is read the Latin Vulgate! I actually started to try to learn Latin a little while ago, because I would love to be able to read it, as well as sing and understand Gregorian chant and other Latin (Marian) hymns/songs.
To: stop wasting so much time on the internet.
This. 😃

But seriously,

To Read: Many books, but especially The Dark Night of the Soul by St. John of the Cross and The History of the Church by the Didache Series.
To Watch: … (can’t believe I’m saying this but…) nothing right now.
To Fix: My car… 😃 ~ has some crazy issues that need some attention, but it’s quite cold outside now

To read: Bible and The Great Gatsby
To do: finish rcia and start education classes! Super nervous though :o

Code:
You don't know what that is ? Should be available at any quality restaurant ....
Google it, Google has everything…lol

Creme brûlée is extraordinarily easy to make, if decadently rich. Google Martha Stewart’s recipe. It’s as good as the best I’ve had in any five-star restaurant. The top is not set on fire but rather the sugar sprinkled on top is carmelized with a acetylene torch, but you can get a similar result by putting the custard under a broiler.

Very cool responses from everyone! Keep 'em coming!

And drew_neill, I’d read ‘The Great Gatsby’ along with the SparkNotes book written for it. 😛 It can be very hard to pick up on the symbols and metaphors on your own, especially if it’s your first time reading it. It’s a very wonderful book about the American Dream.

I love sweets, but I don’t like creme brulee. I think it tastes burned.

Are we writing out our “to do” list? Or are we writing out our “bucket list?”

Mine are totally different. I have a huge list of short term projects (done within a year) that I am finding rather overwhelming lately.

But bucket list–that’s different. A lot of my short term projects are steps towards my long-term projects.

I love sweets, too! And I don’t mind if I end up not liking it, I just want to try it. 🙂

And I guess it’s sort of a mix of a ‘to do’ list and ‘bucket list’. When you think of a ‘to do’ list you think of things that need to get done as soon as possible, whether you want to do them or not, while a ‘bucket list’ is a list of things you want to see/do before you die, but they’re usually big, exciting things like seeing the Eiffel Tower or riding the world’s largest roller coaster. This is a list of low-key things (well, except for the posters that put dipping their feet in the Jordan River and finishing RCIA classes, those are pretty big things :p.) that you want to do one day, but are in no immediate rush to do, like reading a novel by your favorite author.
