What's the best Catholic prayer book?

I have: Christian Prayer
Shorter Christian Prayer
Work of God (a 2 week Benedictine Psalter)

Is there a sort of…“ultimate” prayer book used by Catholicism? I really like “Christian Prayer”, but “Shorter Christian Prayer” seems easier for me. I’m not really a fan of the very diluted “Work of God” that I just bought (it was at a monastery gift shop though, so the money went completely to the monastery).

What prayer book(s) do you use? Why? Which, in your opinion, is best for praying with the Church?
 
HERE are some other really nice prayer books. The “Manual of Prayers” really is a beautiful thing, and is nice enough to carry to Mass with you. A good friend of mine just purchased it and she really loves it.

I really like Father Lasance’s My Prayer Book: Happiness in Goodness. In addition to many, many prayers, litanies, reflections and instructions, it also contains the Ordinary of the Mass.

Also, I can’t recommend the Liturgy of the Hours too highly. It’s the official prayer of the Church outside of Mass…
 
I also prefer the full 4 volume Liturgy of the Hours – nothing is more beautiful!

Yes, scapularkid8, ThePenitent’s suggestion above would fit as the “ultimate” prayer book – if not the most accessible. I don’t use the LOTH personally but envy those who have the time.

The Manual of Prayers (available via the link posted above) is beautiful and VERY thorough, including Latin versions of many prayers and litanies. This book will be treasured in my family for ages, I think.

I have “Manual of Prayers” which I really like. I have one copy from the 40’s which belonged to an aunt and one from the 50’s which is mine.

I have a ‘Key of Heaven’ prayer book from the 1970s. It has all the traditional devotions like the Rosary and Way of the Cross, as well as numerous Litanies and Novenas for different occasions, Morning and Evening Prayers, prayers for before and after Mass, before and after Confession, devotions to the Sacred Heart and the Order of Mass and Rite of Marriage - lots of other prayers too. Everything you could want and more!

My uncle and late aunt (they’re Lutheran, but my uncle’s grandfather on his side was Catholic) have an old Catholic Missal that’s about 80 years old or more. The pages are virtually dry-rotting, though.
