Ok, give it your best thoughts. I think it’s truth, because he’s such a big liar.
Pride – not to be subject to a superior when subjection is due.Ok, give it your best thoughts. I think it’s truth, because he’s such a big liar.
On the way back to the Petits-Fosses, Bernadette revealed how at a certain moment the Apparition seemed different from before. Suddenly loud yells, belched from the Gave, had rent the sacred silence of Massabielle. They ‘challenged, crossed, collided with one another, like the clamour of a brawling crowd.’ One voice, more furious than the rest, dominated them all and roared out: ‘Get out of here! . . . Get out of here!’ Bernadette guessed rightly that the threatening curse was by no means addressed merely to her humble self, but was an attack directed beyond her to the Vision of Light standing above the eglantine. The Vision merely glanced in the direction of the rushing stream. This single look, one of sovereign authority, reduced the invisible mob to silence!

It has always been the plan of God (since Genesis 3:15) to use a woman (The Blessed Virgin Mary and her offspring, Jesus Christ) to crush the serpent’s (Satan’s) head. It’s his own pride. He can never get over the fact that a mere mortal and a woman, Mary, was sinless and the closest thing to perfect besides Jesus. The devils pride cannot take this and it infuriates him.
There was an excellent interview with Catholic exorcist Fr. Pedro Barrajon, and he relates his experiences with Satan and the Virgin during an exorcism. The original article was from 2005 from a German website which I couldn’t find. But I was able to locate an archived version of it. (Link is below. Here’s an excerptIn performing exorcisms, Fr. Chad Ripperger said that when he mentions the name MARY, our Blessed Mother, that the devil and his demons BEG him not to call upon Her.
http://www.signandsight.com/features/530.htmlA. At the end, the priest says to the demon, “Go away! Disappear!” The demon usually answers, “No, I don’t want to.” It rebels and revolts. Sometimes it says “You have no power over me. You are nothing to me.” But after a while, its resistance weakens. This usually happens after the invocation of the Holy Mother, she’s very important for that. No demon ever dares to insult her during an exorcism. Never.
Q. Doe he have more respect for Mary than for God himself?
A. Apparently. Otherwise no holds are barred, and everyone is insulted: the priests, everyone present, the bishops, the Pope, even Jesus Christ. But never the Virgin Mary. It’s an enigma.
