What's the difference between incredulity and heresy?

"Incredulity is the neglect of revealed truth or the willful refusal to assent to it.

“Heresy is the obstinate post-baptismal denial of some truth which must be believed with divine and catholic faith, or it is likewise an obstinate doubt concerning the same;”

They look very similar to me. Is the second one only for those of us who are baptized?

Perhaps the difference is in the words assent and denial.

Refusing asent is simply refusing to do something, denying somethign however is active.

Refusing assent means you not only cannot bring yourself to believe something.

Denial on the other hand means you are actually actively opposed to the belief and call it false.

It is one thing not to believe it is another to actually denounce something as false.

Of course they probably both go together and a person who is guilty of one will more often than not also be guilty of the other.
