It is possible to obtain indulgences through wearing a scapular, on particular days, for those that are enrolled and meet the necessary conditions for the indulgence.

Never heard this particular story before, but I remember one where a girl was hitted by a truck and, thanks to Our Lady, a bishop was passing by at the moment, so she was able to confess before meeting Our Lord.
There are hundreds, if not thousands of similar stories where Our Lady, faithfull to her promise, creates a way to make people go to Heaven.
