I don’t know where else to put this. Has anyone else noticed the guerrilla tactics used by some of them? Hit and run, hit and run. How do we get this under control? Why is this happening now?

With all the talk of building bridges, it gives renewed meaning to the old image of a troll living under a bridge waiting to attack anyone who tries to cross.

Might help to offer a solid definition of troll. I will occasionally read a post and though choosing not to make a serious response, will respond with a humorous observation or maybe just an emoji (though I will do that less and less now as the currently available emojis have lost the same charm or impact as the ones on the old forum). I don’t consider that trolling but possibly others do???

Troll:
A disingenuous person who only posts to stir the pot, make rude remarks, or get others fighting.

Yeah. THere’s a bunch of them.
WHen the forum restarted, it’s open to everyone. So they come back. Such is the internet. 😒

Nah, that’s not what he is talking about. You’re fine. 😉

We get two or three just about everyday. I think (and hope) PianistClaire can help you with what I mean. I’m a little busy at the moment, but basically “Catholics are idolaters” and fleeing type posts.

Here is one:
The bible says that we cannot worship idols

But the member who created that thread eventually came back to comment along the same lines in other threads. I guess that makes him not a troll, but just a member with a strong opinion.

There was another thread several days ago, similar accusation but not as nice, to which I responded, but it seems to have disappeared without a trace. Around the same time, I saw a few more like it, to which I did not respond, and now I cannot find them in the forum search.

In my opinion, it’s good that we have these kinds of threads because it gives us the opportunity to preach the truth and expose anti-Catholic nonsense.

Yes, I have seen several threads recently with OPs who list themselves as Catholic, yet then post something that makes it seem pretty probable they are not actually Catholic. I just avoid those threads. Especially if they only post the first post and then disappear. Most of those threads are adequately answered in the first few posts. But then they seem to still keep going.

Trolls are NEVER a good thing. They make the Catholics look bad to lurkers of other faiths that read here. Pushing a ridiculous agenda can be done at the local level. Try that at your own church thankyouverymuch.

🤮

Or the people who join, and on the same day ask “is his a sin” and then go on to describe, in lascivious detail, their masterbatory/intercourse/make-out sessions/sumpin’ they saw on teh interweb…
Seriously, why does anybody even answer these questions…

They’re all over the place. They’ve all come back out of the woodwork with the new forum.

LOL you’re a better person than me!
I just assume they’re having lots of “fun” asking.
I worked on a phone medical information line and sometimes the perverts would call and ask dirty questions to get us flustered…
