What's wrong with this church?

The Tabernacle is off center; there is no central crucifix; there is a large inappropriate musical instrument (a piano forte) in the front; the Church is filled with trees; there is a choir where the Tabernacle should be; there is a girl holding up an offering pagan style; there is a lot of emphemerous hanging from the ceiling. Looks like a protestant church to me.

The girl and the fire is as bad as for what it stands. Showing some skin doesn’t probably offend God, but if she were my daughter, I would insist she wore something more serious. Fire is as pagan for Christians as it was for Hebrews, but some people could get the wrong idea. The gold stars aren’t all that bad for Christmas, at least so long as they don’t laicise the atmosphere. Movie screen is only as bad as the placement of it (one can project Christian movies in a church, why not?), but the statue is strange and the lack of crosses is hardly striking as proper for a Christian church. Choir in the Tabernacle’s place is hardly proper, either. Tabernacle off the center isn’t improper in a cathedral if it has a separate side-altar. Plus, in post Vaticanum II churches, it’s hardly the geometrical centre, anyway. The Tabernacle usually tends up moved to the left.

The stule on the chasuble is wrong, so is the priest sitting with the congregation (even if it’s true he doesn’t need a gigantic throne chair). Commenting on the lecture before reading it is quite weird and hardly in accordance with the proper order of the mass. No Reconcilliation on the schedule? Then something’s wrong. What are the priests doing? Perhaps there’s some protestantisation in question. Someone might be forgetting that we are Catholic, not Protestant.

you people should be lucky that you aren’t in the Bishop Robert Carlson- sioux falls form in the watercooler. He was just named bishop of Saginaw. I mentioned in the post how ugly that ‘worship space’ is and i got my head bit off! go over there and blow some steam for me, please?

I’ve been to that Church a couple times. I love that Church and the music when we went there with the homeschoolers. Also the Bishop of Gaylord will be attending the Marian Peace Conference on October 26th-28th.

Our parish, St. Anne, is fairly orthodox. It is also home to Mike Maturen, who will be leading the adult faith formation before Sunday Mass. Mike will be appearing with Marcus Grodi on EWTN on Aug 30 to tell his reversion story. Be sure to tune in!!!
