What's your favorite Gospel event?

As we continue through the desert this Lent and think about what God and His Son mean to us, I thought it would be interesting to share with each other what our favorite Gospel even is (besides the Passion, Crucifixion, and Resurrection which should be all our favorites!) and if you have any interesting stories about why it is your favorite.

My personal favorite is the cleansing of the ten lepers. I don’t give thanks to God as much as I do, and even when I do, it reinforces how important this Thanksgiving is to Jesus and the Father.

If anyone is curious I actually found a recitation of this passage on YouTube in Arabic (which sounds AMAZING!!):

“Give thanks to Lord for He is good. His mercy endures forever.”

***Hi, scapularkid!

…one of my most favorite passages is the revelation made by Jesus to Martha at Lazarus’ death; Martha is a devout disciple who is quite knowledgeable of Scriptures and when told by Jesus that Lazarus will rise to life, she is quick to acknowledge that he will–at the end of times, when all will be resurrected… Jesus reveals to her that He is the Resurrection and Life!

God is not bound by the words contained in the Holy Scriptures–Jesus is God and He tells Martha that He will bring Lazarus back because it is in His Power to do so!

the Sermon on the Mount.

it speaks to all people and nations. its influence is undeniable.

on my journey to truth, i was struck how people of other faiths knew the Nazarene. gandhi was so moved by this particular teaching that he publicly acknowledged the fact that he tried to live his life accordingly.
 
Hands down, other than the top ones (passion, et al), I have to say I really dig the Wedding at Cana. Being a Jewish convert to Catholicism, I just love the how Mary, normally so very meek and mild asserts herself indirectly as the Jewish Mama she is, brushing aside her son’s protests and ordering the servants to do what He tells you – knowing He will not let her down.

And it speaks to me that His first miracle was not to heal the blind or raise the dead, or even to feed the hungry – but to provide celebratory lubricant to a couple being sealed in matrimony!!!

My second favorite, being a convert of course, is the road to Amaeus. How often I, myself, walked beside Jesus and didn’t know it all those years as an unbeliever… And then one day my eyes were opened and it seems so incredible – how could I have missed feeling His touch when He was here all along???
 
Not one in specific, but the ones where Jesus’ human nature shines through…where he’s sitting down and chatting with the disciples…where’s he’s eating meals…that sort of thing.

I like the mental picture that comes to mind when I envision our Lord as just sort of a regular guy, no blasphemy intended. Kind of like the flashback scenes in Mel Gibson’s movie where Jesus is goofing around splashing water on his mom.

I would have to agree with that.
 
The Transfiguration. Easily the most spectacular event in the life of Christ, and a glimpse of what we can look forward to in eternity.
 
I have to say, I am pretty fond of the woman at the well. It says so much, about Jesus, and about her.

I am sure there are others with great meaning for me, but this is the first I thought of when asked the question in the OP.
