Wheat-free Communion?

Hi,
Is there such a thing as wheat free communion?
I am wheat intolerant and wonder if there is a communion that i can take without ‘reprocussions’…
If anyone has any ideas I’ be grateful to hear them.

Nope, the body must originally start out as wheat.

Was down this road when my daughter had a suspected wheat intolerance.
 
If I recall correctly, there is such a thing as an extremely low wheat / low gluten content wafer that can be substituted that still contains a small amount of wheat. It works for some, but if you are extremely sensitive, it probably would still cause a reaction. Nevertheless, it is a potential option. That said, the easiest solution for people who have conditions like celiac disease is to simply receive the Precious Blood.

The hosts may be low gluten but I think ‘low wheat’ is a misnomer. They can only be wheat flour and water so I don’t know how you could make them ‘low wheat’ without substituting something else for the wheat which would then render them invalid matter.
