We receive varying degrees of actual grace. Our Lord is really the One blessing us. We should see the blessing of a priest as a great favour.
I recall seeing an interesting video in which there was a large quantity of small olive trees, all of which were dead, except one. The single surviving olive tree was previously blessed by St. Pope John Paul II.
