I am a college student beginning RCIA very soon. Now, I am aware that I will not receive the Eucharist until Easter and that I am officially received into the church at that time.
However, the need to declare my religion, or at least answer the question “what religion are you?” has come up often recently in conversation and things like surverys, etc.
I previously belonged to a Protestant church, which was a great experience and ultimately led me to the Catholic Church, but I would not feel right claiming that church since I no longer attend. Also, I have had the great opportunity to tell people that I am joining the Church when the question has come up…but in some instances it is not the time to start an in depth conversation.
As a baptized candidate, when can I begin to simply respond “Catholic” when asked my religion?
