When did the Church Go off the Rails

Did you ever wonder why Clement felt the need to write this letter and exert authority over another Church even while the Apostle John was still alive?

It’s odd, though, that Clement was able to assert authority so boldly without triggering a schism, isn’t it?

Can you please give your citation from the Council of Trent?
Also, I am curious what exactly does “consent of the whole Church” mean to you? You don’t have to say what you think it doesn’t mean. Please describe what it does mean to you and how that would be done in your opinion. You might also share how your church does it for comparison.

I will do even one better than that. Many don’t even think they need to practice since they believe they have already won the World Series when they joined their team.

I don’t see why not - all you need is a priest and a congregation. The priest could get letters from the Bishops of all the Dioceses through which the train runs, in order to have permission to administer the Sacraments. 🙂
