When were you first absolutely sure of your vocation? I go back and forth all the time, but for the first time in my life, I feel pretty sure about what I want. How old were you when you found out what it was that God was calling you to?

I have felt called to marriage since I was a young teenager. I’m 39 now, and still feel the call.

Seven years old. Ever since I realized that the nuns who taught me were actually people before they became nuns:D …to me nuns in a very special way belonged to Jesus and this was my attraction in my very young years…Blessings - Barb:)

I don’t think I would be absolute certain of my vocation till I would be ordained as a priest or until I would be married to someone for the rest of my life. I am in a state of constant discernment, even when I feel most certain of my vocation.

Great point!👍 The final affirmation and declaration publicly of vocation is ordination for the priesthood, final profession for a religious sister or sacramental marriage for a married person…and in a case of the Order of Virgins, profession by a Bishop. We poor single people are “out on a ledge” (jest!)😃 , and even those under private vows and can only use common sense with insight and good sound spiritual guidance. It is most wise wherever possible and prior to making any sort of private vow or promise to God to have good sound spiritual guidance prior making any decision to go ahead.
Blessings…Barb:)

Same here. Well, except that I’m a woman and have no intention of becoming or even wanting to become a priest. I know I really don’t want to be a nun, except to run away from it all.

I think I would like to be married, but it’s so hard these days. 😦
