When do we have to report others doing wrong?

When would it be sinful to not report others doing wrong? Or do you even have to? As an example, someone tried to “help” me get more dental benefits than I was entitled to by lying. After quite some effort, I am not just receiving the benefits I am entitled to. However, I managed to do that without telling the insurance company that at one point I was being told to say an incorrect amount and I suspect that they do that for all their patients. Am I obligated to report this suspicion?

Would I be obligated to report someone I suspected what cheating on their taxes or a co-worker who was abusing their time keeping at work or other wrong things? At a minimum, would I have to say that I think it’s wrong every single time? I like my coworker and we talk a lot so sometimes I just laugh things off (things I wouldn’t do) and don’t really say anything. Is that wrong?

My feeling is that it is my duty to not accept wrong acts as being ok and to be an example to others as best I can. Is there more I should be doing?

this is confusing…you are NOT getting what you are entitled to? If you are entitled to receive it, then straighten this out with the insurance company. Lying about anything is not the way to do it.

Would I be obligated to report someone I suspected what cheating on their taxes (have proof! Unless you are their accountant and SEE their tax forms and tax return, you have no proof) or a co-worker who was abusing their time keeping at work (is that not the boss’ job) or other wrong things? At a minimum, would I have to say that I think it’s wrong every single time? Don’t be a tattle tale and go running to “tell” every time something you see something you perceive to be wrong.

** have you ever thought the person thought they were doing you a favour?..maybe they genuinely thought you needed the extra dental benefits and tried to help you out…by reporting them you could lose them their job.**

Would I be obligated to report someone I suspected what cheating on their taxes

** why report somebody who you only “suspect”…that person could be innocent and you could put them and their family through hell and give them alot of worry**

if you like your co worker and you report them then you’ll have no friends at work cos nobody likes a snitch…the only person to reprimand the coworker about timekeeping is your boss

i think you should keep out of other peoples business and maybe talk to a priest about your urge to tattle on people
