When does a baby receive it's soul?

With regard to monozygotic twins, it would seem to me that souls do not divide, but God can certainly create another distinct soul when they separate to become distinct twins.

i don’t for a minute mean to imply that anyone shares a soul, but identical twins start out as one entity, a single fertilized egg which at some point separates itself into two when dividing in its natural progression into a baby. I believe that the soul is created, bestowed, given or otherwise present the moment the egg is fertilized. In response to another post above which postulates that this is problematic, I simply meant to say that it is not. If God can cause the cells to split into two bodies, he can also cause the soul to split into separate souls, to occupy those bodies.

We will never know on this earth how it is done. My intent was only to say that God does something and it is not messy or problematic. It simply is. Each twin has his own body and his own soul. We know not how that happened, but only that it was in God’s plan.

It’s what we call faith.

Don’t you think God could place a seperate soul in the body of the second baby the instant the cells seperate into two babies. HE has no need to “seperate” one soul into two, just because the material cells seperate. God Bless, Memaw

I believe a fundamental postulate related to Christology is at the root of this question. There is one animal soul of animation, yet each person made in the image of God has a separate and unique soul. When we are righteous by the grace of Our Lord and joined to the source of life, God The Creator, then each individual soul is undivided, eternal and infinite in the matrimonial union of the church to Her Head.

The question of twins points into a “duality” to be found in Christ, Our Head and True High Priest. There is no duality in His Incarnation and the quality of True God and True Man found only in His being. The Son is not only True God and True Man, not divided yet not mixed, He is also the Second Person of the Holy Trinity of God The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. Work on your math skills and maybe you can leave your “primitive” state and learn to understand these mysteries present in The Truth, The Life and The Way.

A connotation of endemic, as is spoken of in reference to a disease or detrimental condition is also looped within the mitotic division for the engendering of twins.

This leads me to state that the Bible is not hate speech whether or not you agree that there is sin present on our world. I pray that you discover the truth of our disobedience and offense to the thrice Holy God before the sun sets on Good Friday. Me He walk with you on Easter Sunday and every day of your life.
