When does Lent end?

I was asked this question at work today, and I responded that I think Lent ends on Good Friday, although if one had given something up for Lent, that the conclusion of the Easter Vigil or perhaps Easter Sunday Mass would be an appropriate time to “celebrate.” I was informed by someone, who claims to have researched the question, that Lent actually ends at sundown on Holy Thursday. Is this correct?
