When does the Christmas season end?

Hi. I noticed the church calendar has a white candle all the way through The Baptism of Our Lord. I thought the Christmas season ended at Epiphany. If it is continued through the Baptism, what does this signify and should we leave our decorations up through the Baptism? Thanks for your help.
