I’ve seen different litany in the prayer books. I’ve heard them prayed after the rosary. Is that when they are supposed to be prayed or is the a specific time to use certain one?

Litanies approved by the Church for public devotion:
Litany of Loreto (A.k.a. Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary)
Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Litany of Saints
Litany of Saint Joseph
Litany of the Holy Name
Litany of the Precious Blood
There are numerous litanies that are used for privvate devotion, many for individual saints, or to ask for certain virtue and graces, etc.
The Mass itself has some litany phrases in it such as the Kyrie and Agnus Dei. The Litany of Loreto is more than likely the one you are hearing after a Rosary, as that is a common devotion along with the Rosary. I have heard, yet I am skeptical, that there is a specific way fo breathing in litanies (inhale on the invocation and exhale on the response). However, I have not seen this in many places, except a couple sources. So again, I am skeptical of that.
