Just gotta get my gripe on. My mother came in to help with the kids last week and was supposed to get to go home on Monday, but DH broke his arm on Saturday, so she’s here for another 4 weeks. If you’ve read any of my posts, you know we don’t quite get along. DH’s work volume has been low anyway, but now w/ his arm broken, our income has taken another hit. We just dropped some money on replacing tires on the van since they’d gone bad and I just can’t seem to stay on budget with the food bill - it’s like death by a thousand paper cuts, just nickel-and-diming ourselves to death. DH’s truck also needs to be repaired (and has for like a year now).

Now, his insurance is changing and we’re not going to have the health savings account to help us pay our medical expenses. We have an ER bill for our 2 yo who busted his head clean open a few weeks ago (urgent care just happened to be closed that day, go figure) and then we’ll have 3 rounds of x-rays on DH’s arm, not to mention my OB bill from December we’re still paying on (and we’ve already gotten a charity write-off). All of this plus car tags is going to wipe out our savings. Poor DH was just planning on getting some much-needed yard work done and we were so looking forward to getting some things done around the house for the first time in the 4 years we’ve lived there. We also have a major mold problem, but the damage is so extensive, dunno if we’ll be able to afford to fix it. I had just bought a new ceiling fan for the living room and it sat around for a month before my dad came to visit and help put it up while I was in the hospital having my last little one and the motor has gone out and I have to replace it.

YEESH!!! Glad yesterday is over with though. My supervisor sent me to a seminar and I had to leave at 5:30 am and was gone for 12 hours. Turns out it had nothing to do with my job. I had to pull over on the way there to sleep and the whole time I was there I kept falling asleep. Sure hope they reimburse me for mileage.

Well, at least DH and I still have our jobs, and even though mom gets under my feet (and skin), at least we have someone to care for the kids till DH gets his strength back and can take back over. Thank the Lord DH didn’t have to have surgery on his arm.

Thank you Jesus for the Cross - please don’t let me forget your faithfulness in the midst of all this mess!

I can so relate to that!

I am a widow and a senior citizen now, but having eight kids in sixteen years always put us behind the eight ball.

We both wanted a large family, and never regretted it. I can laught now when I think of the times we finally got about $200. in a savings account, and something went wrong with the car. When all the children and grandchildren get together for a family reunion every three years, the tears roll down our cheeks from laughing at all the fun antics we had been through together.

Family and friends discreetly provided us with good used clothes from time to time. A needed baby carriage or stroller always came on the scene when needed. (good used ones from relatives).

I could go on and on …but you already know!

God bless you and your family!

Well at least you have your kids. I’m not griping but I probably never will have any at all and I always wanted a big family. Instead I got years of debt, family illness, no husband, no kids. On the bright side I’ve gotten to do a lot of things I would never have had the chance to do if I did have kids and I got to spend quality time of relatives I would probably have missed if they’d been well. So you take the good with the bad though lately the bad does weigh more on my shoulders then the good. 🤷 Again I say at least you have your kids. 👍

Keep the faith. Pray and offer your suffering to Jesus in his name. I have some very hard days at work. I pray and offer to Jesus and ask him to strengthen me. It works. It helps keep my sanity.
