When praying for others do I have to specifically name names or say something more generall?

God knows our hearts. Form your intention in the best way that you can. If that means focusing on a friend’s name, then do so. You could also focus visually on their face, or just imagine qualities unique to them. The idea is to direct your intentions to them in particular. Unless you intend to pray for a group of people or for some general intention for everyone, then, of course, you wouldn’t need to name names if they aren’t involved.

I keep a journal where I write down people’s names for whom I wish to pray. When I have enough time, I go through the list, but most days I just as God to bless and protect the people I’ve written in my journal 🙂
