When should we let a pall hang over a piece of entertainment?

It does make me a little sad to watch Danny Thomas’ “Make Room for Daddy” knowing that little Rusty Hamer would wind up a suicide.

I didn’t know Rusty committed suicide. That is sad.
The little girl from Father Knows Best had her share of problems too.
 
I know they are movies, but every time I watch either Superman: The Movie or Back to the Future I always feel a little sad at how an accident robbed us of Reeves’ talent and how Parkinson’s has ensured there will never be a Back to the Future part 4…
