When St. Faustina went to Christmas Mass, She writes She saw the Infant Jesus in the Church.

“When I arrived at Midnight Mass, from the very beginning I steeped myself in deep recollection, during which time I saw the stable of Bethlehem filled with great radiance. The Blessed Virgin, all lost in the deepest of love, was wrapping Jesus in swaddling clothes, but Saint Joseph was still asleep. Only after the Mother of God put Jesus in the manger did the light of God awaken Joseph, who also prayed. But after a while, I was left alone with the Infant Jesus who stretched out His little hands to me, and I understood that I was to take Him in my arms. Jesus pressed His head against my heart and gave me to know, by His profound gaze, how good He found it to be next to my heart” . (Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, 1442).

This is stunning writing. I believe it, it’s just hard to comprehend. Thoughts? Reflections?

How does one read “Divine Mercy In My Soul”, I read it straight through, I do realize there are those who quote certain areas. It’s always been hard for my comprehension.

Any serious and courteous responses welcomed.

To continue on in her diary is to note that she saw the Infant Jesus very often in the Host, and that she often also saw Him broken in two when the priest broke the Host. Disturbing image, but that is what she saw.
Many saints have had visions; St. Faustina is certainly a saint who had many, many mystical experiences throughout her short life. I am currently finishing her work for the second time.

Thanks, I read that in the past… I have the book somewhere.

Yes, that is what she says she saw. Doesn’t make it theologically correct, though.

I said nothing about whether it was theologically correct or not, so I don’t know what you are commenting on.

You seem to have formed the impression that I was attacking you. I don’t know how.

I was commenting on how Jesus cannot be ‘broken in two’ when the Host is fractioned. The saint has written that she saw this. But it is not correct theologically.

Her book surely has an “Imprimatur” and maybe “Nihil Obstat”, I have not seen my copy in years but I believe one may read it online in its entirety.
