Hi all, I’m new here, and I have a question. Medals, rosaries, badges, etc. all make me feel closer to my faith and serve as a visual reminder that I should always try to be closer to God. Plus they are just one of those things that are uniquely Catholic.

My question is, when is the most appropriate time to ask a priest to bless these items? Should I just approach my priest after mass with the item (rosary) in hand? Or should I make a special appointment?

Thanks for your help!

I asked Father before Mass if he would have time after Mass to bless my three St. Benedict crucifixes. That particular blessing prayer can take a bit to do and I didn’t want to interrupt his preparation time.

I got an item Blessed tonight. The Bishop Emeritus celebrated Mass and we had to wait for someone to arrive and unlock the Church. He performed a fine by the car bootlight blessing for me.

When you are finished with confession, just say “change of subject; would you bless these Rosary Beads?”
