When to tell the police

I know there’s many threads about this already but it’s still a lack of clarity

When are we as Catholics obligated to report a crime to the police?
When a human life is threatened? A felony? Littering? Always? Violence? What about loved ones commit a crime?

What if it’s a crime you know about online and you have the full means of reporting it and where the person is?
